The Clown is Quicker Than the Eye explores the magical, shape-shifting qualities of the clown. The archetypal personage of the foolish trickster has allowed me to deflect the severity of the world but has also led me into a labyrinth of self deception. This work is an unflinching look at the merry but lonely life of the buffoon in a variety of compromising situations. Among these is the make-believe cantina Mezcalzheimer's where clowns go to lose their minds on the unpredictable elixir of mezcal . The clown giggles uncontrollably as he takes a ride in our hell-bound hand basket but under layers of makeup roll the tears of thousands of years of human folly.
